Stepping Out in a New Summer Dress

Happy Summer!

I am so happy to have my sewing machine back after more than a month in the shop -- just in time to kick off our summer vacation with a breezy new dress pattern for the girls.

Mary Ashley and Emma joined me at one of our favorite local garden spots last week; here are a few of my favorite photos of our afternoon together.

I have had this ruffled neckline dress pattern from Whimsy Couture in my stash since last summer, and I finally made it last week. Mary Ashley is pretty in pink in fabric from Hobby Lobby.

This pattern was really easy to make, and the ruffled neckline is so flattering. (In fact, I have already cut out fabric to make another set of dresses for the girls this week.) Above, Emma feels more beautiful with treasures she found in the garden.

Adorable dresses! And your girls are, too, of course. They look close to the same age in these pictures!
