This beautiful view greeted us when we arrived in Panama City Beach, Fla., last week. We took the children out of school early for the Labor Day holiday weekend, and I am so glad that we did because bad weather cut our trip short. By Saturday night high tide found the surf nearly lapping the fence that surrounds my in-law's beachside condominium, so we made an early exit to try to beat the rain home.
Despite our disappointment to cut our vacation short, we are thankful we enjoyed several unhurried days of digging in the sand, shopping, playing games and reading. Even with few photos to commemorate the trip, these are the days we'll remember.
"Never a ship sails out of the bay
But carries my heart as a stowaway."
