A Month to Sip and Savor

"Winter, a lingering season, is a time to gather golden moments, embark upon a sentimental journey, and enjoy every idle hour."
~  John Boswell

February is here -- a delight to my romantic heart. This month promises to be full of celebration, with a visit to a tea room, a birthday party to host, and a book club dinner to plan. If illness does not delay our party plans, we will celebrate Emma's 7th birthday this weekend. Emma got a stomach virus last weekend, so I am looking for any signs of sickness in the rest of the family. So far, so good! Toward the end of the month, our book club will meet to discuss Under the Cajun Moon
by Mindy Starns Clark. Members have praised this mystery, and one friend said this is her favorite book club selection yet. You still have time to read along with us; order your copy here. And to begin this heart-happy month, what could be better than sharing afternoon tea with a friend? A trip to Smith-Byrd House is on the calendar for today. I will be sharing an easy teatime recipe from Smith-Byrd in an upcoming post.

I pray that February holds delightful surprises and special moments of celebration -- a winter month to sip and savor.
