I am taking some quiet time this morning to reflect on this dreamy Valentine week. I have some exciting news to share, along with a few of my favorite gift ideas for pampering the special women in our lives. So often women are the caretakers for their families, so who takes care of the caretaker? I believe the natural choice is other women. Our acts of kindness can give a bit of mothering to a friend or co-worker who needs it. And sometimes the woman you need to care for is you. Here are a few of my favorite pampering gifts to give and receive. Enjoy with an extra hour of sleep and sweet dreams!
1. I am drawn to Lollia products as much for the beautiful packaging as the lovely scents and moisturizing benefits. I favor the Breathe Peony & White Lily fragrance, but you can browse a variety of products here.
2. With a teabag tucked inside, Kimberly Shaw cards are a delight to send and receive. The artwork is so feminine and pretty -- perfect for framing or propping on your bedside table. I have picked up Kimberly Shaw Graphic cards many times over the years in favorite tea rooms and gift shops but just recently discovered Kimberly's web site. It is absolutely beautiful, and you are sure to find the perfect sentiment with more than 70 designs available on the site. Visit Kimberly here.
3. Seda France luxury candles make wonderful favors because the packaging looks like a gift box and the scents are divine. Find a variety of products here, and stock up for hostess and teacher gifts.
4. Are these pink toile Bedhead pajamas not perfection? Made of cotton sateen with a ruffled top and charming pink print, you are practically guaranteed to dream of sipping tea in a rose garden when you wear these to bed. I discovered these luxury pajamas drastically reduced at The Pajama Company. Find a variety of Bedhead styles here, and slip your favorite pair into your suitcase for a trip to your closest bed and breakfast.
5. And on your way to the B&B, don't forget to grab a few of your favorite magazines. Always romantic and inspiring, Victoria is at the top of my reading list. With stories about travel, beauty and the business of bliss, Victoria celebrates the grace and elegance of bygone days. Get subscriptions for yourself and those you love here.
So are you ready to hear about my exciting week? It was really a dream come true to visit Hoffman Media in Birmingham this week to interview for a position with Victoria Magazine. If you have followed my blog for long, you know that I am an avid reader of Hoffman Media magazines, and I have given away several of their books over the years, as well. I identify with the feminine voice of Victoria and feel such a kinship with the women who bring gracious, romantic living to life within its pages. It was amazing to step into the editorial department and feel the creative energy of the staff. Along with the managing editor of Victoria, I met the editor of TeaTime and saw familiar faces around every corner from other favorite magazines like Southern Lady and Taste of the South. But for e-mails and a business card in hand, I might think my visit was literally a dream. I don't know what will come of this opportunity, but for now I am still walking on clouds after my dreamy day in-house with Hoffman Media.
