Victoria Classics Monograms Giveaway

"No household, however humble, need be without the refining influence of dainty environments." ~ Adelaide E. Heron

I am so pleased to share our latest Victoria Classics issue, a beautiful special interest publication called Monograms that hits newsstands today. Filled with breathtaking linens, exquisite antique silver, and innovative personalization ideas, it is a book you will want to savor. This issue is very special to me because I did much of the research and writing. One of the blessings of this project was getting to work closely with Victoria Editor-in-Chief Phyllis Hoffman DePiano. She is a dynamo -- and as personable and creative as you would imagine her to be. Phyllis has graciously agreed to give a signed copy of Monograms to a reader of A Little Loveliness.

To enter this giveaway for a copy of Monograms, leave a separate comment for each entry you choose.

(1) Leave a comment telling me about a favorite monogrammed find.
(2) Leave a comment if you follow ALL on my sidebar or on Facebook.
(3) Follow Victoria on Facebook.

I will announce the winner soon. In the meantime, look for Victoria Classics Monograms on the newsstand!

I would share my Victoria with my best friend, June. I would devour it writing comments on the pages. She would then devour it answering my comments and sharing her own. Ovarian cancer took the life of my dear friend but I still read those same Victoria's with her comments monthly for their sweet Victoria memories. I am looking forward to the Monogram issue whether I am lucky enough to win or not. How special it shall be with your involvemen!.

I have two monogrammed favorites... My mom bought me a teaspoon turned key chain with "JRD" on it--stands for "just right daughter" of course. And I have a new baby girl that the same mom monogrammed bibs and burp cloths for that I use and love every day. Sweet.

I of course love monograms being from the South. I also love to browse antique shops and found the finest linen pink hankie with the name Barbara exquisitely written and stitched with the most perfect raised lettering you could imagine. It was only $2 and I bought it for my friend Barbara. She loved it so much that she cried after opening a 'just because' gift! That was a fun find for both of us.

My favorite monogram is actually a pillowcase dress I made using your directions. I sewed them for my two little sisters & hand monogrammed their initial on the bottom side. I also monogrammed tags for the inside with their whole name. I just let the hems down so they can wear it this summer.

Very nice! I love finding vintage linen napkins!

My favorite monogrammed pieces are the Irish linen pillow cases that my daughter Haley had made for me. They are very special because she picked them out and took the time to have them monogrammed with an “I” and some beautiful scroll work, in a golden ivory thread. The pillow cases are white and ivory linen, my favorite color combination. They are on my bed and add a lovely touch to my other bed linens. A monogrammed gift lets the person receiving the gift know that, “I made this gift very personal just for you, by adding your monogram”. Congratulations, Melissa, on your contribution to the Victoria Classic's Monogram Issue, with your own research and writing. I can’t wait to see it!

I have loved monograms all my long life. Most recently I had a monogram made of wood for my daughter-in-law and also for myself of wood. I have had monogrammed items made for my granddaughter since she was young hoping she will enjoy the finer things in life like I do and all the little details. I love your blog. I love Victoria and even love the name Victoria. If I were to change my name, it would be Victoria -- I may be older, however, I still may do it! Blessings

I love anything monogrammed! My faves are two circa 1900 gold filled lockets, a large heart with my husbands triple initials and an even larger round one with my initials. It took me years to find them and I wear them together on a very long Victorian chain. (married 39 years) - I also follow you on fb!

I love monograms and have many monogrammed items. I would have to say that my favorite is the monogram that I did on the underside of my daughter's wedding dress, on a silk pocket that held an Irish penny that was my deceased sister's. Not only did the monogram make my daughter's dress truly unique to her, but the penny allowed us to have a "part" of my sister with us on that most joyful of days. MM

I love monograms -- favorite find was finding a locket with my married initials on it at an antique show when I was engaged.

My favorite monogramed object is my mom's faux tortoise shell compact from the 1930s. It has the pretties script monogram on the top.
I'll look forward to this new publication. Would love to win a signed copy. Thanks for the heads up about it being out on the news stand soon.
What a wonderful opportunity to work with Phyllis Hoffman on this fabulous publication. I have saved every issue I've ever received and still go back though them to read on different occasions. They will always offer beautiful inspiration.

My favorite monogram is not even my own monograms. I found a beautiful rose gold ring that was from the 1800's. Inside the ring reads "To my dear mother BWD 1886". I couldn't set it down as I kept thinking of the son or daughter who loved their mother so much they bought her this ring and had it engraved. So, even though I really couldn't afford it, I bought it.

Another monogram item that I love is the button monogram that you made. I am going to make them for the ladies in my family for Christmas gifts. I will use their favorite colors.

I think my favorite monogram item is a monogram pin that I had made when I was in college many years ago! I still wear it and love its versatility.

My favorite monogram is a vintage embroidered hand towel that was passed down to me from my husband's side of the family. It is displayed in our home on a special towel rack.

Oh Melissa, you never cease to amaze me with your creativity. I am so thrilled at the timing of this issue of Victoria and the fact that you are part of it makes it even more special. I have a stick pin with my initial 'K' on it that I just love, mostly because it speaks so personally to me and what I meant to my mother who gave it to me. I came to love monograms long ago but a post you did on your blog on December 8 of 2008 inspired me so much that I finally purchased an embroidery machine of my own, to do just that...monograms. It took me awhile as I just recently got it so I'm especially enthused now that you will be sharing even more ways to inspire me through this new endeavor with Victoria magazine. I can't wait to see it! Thank you as always for your willingness to share your God given gifts. Kim

The book looks like it is a really beautiful one! I have so many pretty monogram designs in vintage books. If only I had the embroidery skills to stitch them out. My favorite monogram is on a silk pillow on my bed.

I love monograms. What southern gal doesn't? My favorite piece is my grandmother's punch ladle. Fortunately I have the same monogram. Handy huh? Thank you and Victoria magazine for this great giveaway.

I love to monogram items myself with my embroidery machine. It's a special way to personalize gifts and things around the house. My favorite piece I've monogrammed is a set of pillowcases that say "I love you" with a vine of hearts on each side.

The most beautiful monogram item that I have is a set of towels given to us as a wedding gift 26 years ago. It is a golden thread on a lace outlined white silk fabric. I love this towel set as much today as the day we received it.

I have just found your blog and can't wait to read more. I did a search for Heirloom Sewing blogs and yours came up on google. Then I went to my first area of interest in your blog and it was your devotionals. When I saw that not only were you a believer and read the Bible, but that you were a significant part of Victoria Magazine (I still have the Winter 1988 or 1987 Edition!) that I have long loved and call my favorite magazine! The Monogram issue is as pretty as the earlier editions of Victoria. I have to say that I have no favorite monogram as they are all beautiful, whether it is my husband's and my monogram or somebody that I don't know but spend time imagining! Looking forward to following you!
