A Month to Sip and Savor

"Winter, a lingering season, is a time to gather golden moments, embark upon a sentimental journey, and enjoy every idle hour."
~  John Boswell

February is here -- a delight to my romantic heart. This month promises to be full of celebration, with a visit to a tea room, a birthday party to host, and a book club dinner to plan. If illness does not delay our party plans, we will celebrate Emma's 7th birthday this weekend. Emma got a stomach virus last weekend, so I am looking for any signs of sickness in the rest of the family. So far, so good! Toward the end of the month, our book club will meet to discuss Under the Cajun Moon
by Mindy Starns Clark. Members have praised this mystery, and one friend said this is her favorite book club selection yet. You still have time to read along with us; order your copy here. And to begin this heart-happy month, what could be better than sharing afternoon tea with a friend? A trip to Smith-Byrd House is on the calendar for today. I will be sharing an easy teatime recipe from Smith-Byrd in an upcoming post.

I pray that February holds delightful surprises and special moments of celebration -- a winter month to sip and savor.

Hello Melissa,
Please tell me where you find the 3 tier cake and hors d'oeuvres food stands ? I have tired to find neutral ones with no luck, and I know some china ones accompany dinner patterns.
Thank you so much.

Oh sweet lady, you know how you uplift my heart and leave a smile in my soul. Gave you a shout out tonight with your post today. I've made a note of the book and look forward to sharing it with friends. I also look forward to your ideas for the meeting between you to discuss it and how your group decides to decorate ;) love, Nancy

JoAnneM, the white tiered servers you often see on my blog are from a Harry and David outlet store. I bought three several years ago, but the smallest, top server broke (a casualty of little ones running through the house). I use a milk glass piece I found at an antique store for the top tier now. I have several other tiered servers made with china plates -- mostly gifts from family and friends who picked them up in antique stores or tea rooms. I have also made some by gluing plates and bowls together with E-6000. I hope you find something special!
