"To sit alone in the lamplight with a book spread out before you, and hold intimate converse with men of unseen generations - such is a pleasure beyond compare." ~ Kenko Yoshida
Happy Leap Day!
I am hoping this extra day yields a little time for diving into a good book.
With February reading in mind, I made several Valentine bookmarks with pink velvet ribbon and scraps of lace trim.
Heart-shaped silver charms and lockets, pink beads and framed clip-art of a rose make these bookmarks perfect for tucking into a favorite love story.
Several of these bookmarks are heading to our teachers, who are busy celebrating Dr. Seuss' birthday with a full week of reading-themed activities.
"In reading, a lonely quiet concert is given to our minds; all our mental faculties will be present in this symphonic exaltation." ~ Stéphane Mallarmé

They are beautiful!
Can you explain how you did the charm and bead part of the bookmark? I'm totally clueless on jewelry making.
Those are very pretty!
Sure, kr. I will try to work up a tutorial with photos of the process.
