Upon arriving at church a week ago, we were greeted with fresh flowers gathered into cheerful bouquets -- posies tucked into urns, vases and glass jars. You could feel the pure pleasure in this thoughtful gesture from an anonymous gardener.
A handwritten note encouraged attendees to take fresh blooms to enjoy at home, share with a neighbor or deliver to the hospital. The paper was signed simply:

What a wonderful way to begin a week and a lovely reminder that joy is amplified when it is shared.
"Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure -- pressed down, shaken together, and running over. For by your standard of measure it will be measured to you in return" (Luke 6:38).
