I spent the past weekend with these sweet ladies from my church during our fourth annual girls beach trip. When 11-year-old Carson looked at this group shot taken by our friend and photographer Allison Hilyer, Carson said, "Hey, I see Ford and Copeland's mom; Braxton and Braden's mom; Jackson and Judson's mom ... . This just looks like a bunch of moms."
Although all of us on the trip who have children love to be "just moms" to our families, for just a weekend each year we enjoy just shopping, just giggling, just eating, just gabbing, just reading, just relaxing -- just having fun.
And it's amazing what a few days of being Just Girls can do.

Melissa, I have to tell you, I have been doing this with a group of girlfriends every single year for the last 25 years. I have amazing memories...you will too!

Oh, Carson's comment was too funny! Glad you had a great time! I'm not a mom yet, but I think a girls' weekend definitely sounds like so much fun.
Just being a mom is a blessing - but, being with a whole group of moms - well, that must be a double blessing.
