Mary Ashley and Emma took a trip to Wonderland this spring to celebrate their friend Emma Cate's 7th birthday. Mom Stacey pulled out all the stops to make this an unforgettable event.
Adorable invitations from Southern Belle's Charm let us know about this very important date. The first order of business when we reached Wonderland was decorating hats.
Stacey gathered straw hats from the dollar store and helped the girls add embellishments like ribbon and silk flowers. Then it was off to the dining room for tea!
Bright colors, tasty nibbles and attention to detail made the dining room table a feast for the senses.
Months before the party, Stacey collected teacups from thrift stores and antique shops. Although she says she looked for bargains, she amassed a beautiful collection worth saving for future tea parties.
Paper goods like these cupcake toppers from Southern Belle's Charm carried the theme through the party decor.
And edible gum paste toppers from LC Cakes added sweet details to some of the cupcakes, like the birthday girl's special cupcake, shown below.
Here are some of the girls enjoying their afternoon in Wonderland (Birthday Girl Emma Cate, center, bottom row). After getting their fill of sweets, the girls played croquet on the lawn and helped Emma Cate open her presents.
Our afternoon passed too quickly, but Emma Cate sent each of her friends home with a parting gift, shown below, to remember their time together in Wonderland.
Mary Ashley and Emma love these Alice-themed Scrabble tile necklaces from WootBaby. The vintage illustrations are so charming.
Yes, there was charm to spare at this tea party in Wonderland. This adorable cupcake wrapper wreath greeted us when we arrived at the party, and I couldn't resist snapping a photo of it as we left.
Hats off to my friend Stacey for giving sweet Emma Cate a wonderful -- and wonder-filled -- birthday party in Wonderland.
