This heart-shaped cake was a sweet way to celebrate the first birthday of our early Valentine.
We crowned daughter Emma Queen of Hearts with a family dinner. With photographs of the birthday girl, a tile bearing her footprint, and a scrapbook of her first year on display, we could all marvel at the changes one year had brought. The whole evening was full of love.

So beautiful, Melissa, and I love what you did about the footprint and the pictures! Such a cute little girl Emma is!

The cake was a masterpiece!! She is so adorable!! You are continually creating memeories for your dear children, that they will not forget. The best part is, that you share them with us.
Gorgeous cake. Emma is just precious!

I love Emma's look of wonder as she's presented with her own candle lit cupcake. You have so many beautiful pictures. Thank-you for sharing. She is such a sweet little queen of hearts. xox
How beautiful! I love the tile with her little footprint on it - how did you go about doing this project?? I'd love to do this for my son's grandparents. :)
MJ, we actually did the tile at a paint-your-own-pottery studio. I took my other three children there to paint, and the lady who helped us told me they do a free footprint tile for infants. I was delighted to get this keepsake, and Baby Emma slept right through the process!
that cake is so beautiful. every time i come to your bog, i feel like i'm reading southern living magazine.
Maryanne took the words right out of my mouth!
That cake is so pretty. Fit for a princess. I just found you & hope you don't mind me stoppiing by. Your sweet babies are so beautiful too. Mine are all grown. My youngest just turned 17 2 days ago. It is fun to remember when they were little. Yours remind me of that. Blessings

Sometimes I am wistful about seeing little ones like this...then I go work in the nursery on Sunday and change a diaper or two..and snap out of it! But the memories are fun...
