Belles, Balloons and a Bargain

Deflated balloons from Carson's recent birthday party provided hours of fun for Mary Ashley and Emma. They are getting lots of compliments on their ruffled sundresses, picked up for $6 each at Walmart and embellished with coordinating monograms on the skirt. Click on the collage to get a better view of our fun-filled afternoon!

Oh my I love those dresses. I used to dress my daughter's like that. Now that they are 20 and 18 they dress themselves. I love all the primary colors in the dresses and the balloons.

Love the dresses! How come our walmart doesn't have anything cute like that! Grr...All they seem to have are short-shorts (PLEASE tell me if you have a source for longer shorts in sizes 6X and up!) and skimpy tank tops...sigh...

Love your blog! (first time commenting!)

Hey Melissa! I know! I love those walmart sundresses! My little girl has the pink and green! I just picked up another type of sundress at walmart for $5! Do you do your own monogramming? If so, is it hard? Love to know! Julie email-mastersonspj@bellsouth.net

Your daughters are precious! I love the idea of monogramming those dresses. What a way to make them seem more than $6. :) I enjoy your blog!

Hi Melissa,

Stopped by for a quick visit. I've been away on Spring Break enjoying my boys and Florida for a while. I was "unplugged" for most of the Easter week. Hope you and your family had a wonderful holiday. Loved looking at all your pics. Looks like everyone has been having a great time - birthdays and all. Your photography is great!

As usual Melissa, you take my breath away with the "loveliness" filled deep within each and every blog post! Happy birthday to all the birthday children recently. Your cakes are stunning and anyone can feel the love of your family in all of your sweet sharing moments online here. I was also smitten with your post on heritage sewing, something I too absolutely LOVE to do. To create heritage quality items for passing through the generations to come leaves one filled with joy. I know because I now have our grandchildren who are wearing their parents outfits I made once upon a time so long ago. Keep on writing, I love every single post! You inspire many. Blessings to you...
