Ladies at the Forrest Park Church of Christ in Valdosta, Ga., welcomed guests at Saturday's ladies day with great breakfast fare.
During registration, the ladies of Forrest Park served breakfast pastries, coffee and orange juice. But the highlight of the morning menu was breakfast in a cup. Made popular by a Valdosta-area restaurant, breakfast in a cup was new to me. I thought it was delicious. And once I coaxed 3-year-old Emma to try a bite, she wanted the rest of my serving.
Breakfast in a cup worked well for our ladies day, but it would also be a hearty breakfast option for breakfast on the go on busy school mornings. To make breakfast in a cup, per serving, simply combine 1 cup cooked grits; about 1 sausage patty (cooked and crumbled); and cheese, butter, salt and pepper to taste.
