I always feel inspired when I view my mother-in-law's yard. Hydrangeas and lilies bloom in profusion at their Georgia home this month. Below are images of Nana's flowers taken on Memorial Day.
I will be the gladdest thing
Under the sun!
I will touch a hundred flowers
And not pick one.
-- Edna St. Vincent Millay, "Afternoon on a Hill"
Tomorrow I will share images of the luncheon and gender-reveal party we enjoyed over the weekend in her honor of my sister, who is due in July.

Oh how pretty. I love hydrangea's. Ours do not bloom till the middle or end of summer up here in New England.
These are my favorite all time flowers! I love your photos. I have some planted but they are just forming the flowers now. It will be wonderful when they bloom and they I will have them in person. These however are one of the most pretty I have ever seen. Thanks for sharing these with us! Stephanie
Be still my heart! Those photos are great and the hydrangeas are glorious! What a treat to see them in person, I can see why you enjoy those visits! (I'm sure there are other reasons too) Thanks for sharing these beauties with us this morning...we had a big hail storm last night and I am headed out to see what happened to the two hydrangeas that I planted yesterday!
Beautiful colors! Can't wait to see the gender party.
