I love the monogrammed bathing suits some of my favorite trunk show lines carry, so I was thrilled when Sew Beautiful included a toddler bikini pattern in the May/June 2010 issue. I made this pair of bathing suits for the girls to wear for last week's trip to the beach.
Aren't they precious? I used pink and white seersucker with darker pink rick-rack and monogram. Matching hair bows complete this sweet beachtime look.
The Sew Beautiful pattern goes up to a size 4, but 6-year-old Mary Ashley can wear it since it ties at the neck and back. I left the elastic out of her bloomers, which helped her feel a little more "big girl" in her suit.
This is worth a cheer: I picked up an extra copy of the May/June issue of Sew Beautiful for one of you! Leave a comment below to enter, and I will announce the winner soon.

Wow, I love the swimsuits! They are beautiful!
They are beautiful suits! Great job.
You did a great job! Precious girls.
My prayers are with you, your family, and your Mama. I know your pain as I have had similar pain that has spread down my right leg this year. Your swimsuits are precious but your beautiful daughters steal the show! I first saw the suits on a sewing forum and have tried to find the magazine all in our area for my five little monkeys but no luck so far ~ guess everyone wanted it for the same reason. I'll be waiting on a post about your surgery; again, my prayers are with you.
Pat, thanks for telling me about the link. It was not correct, so I have updated that this morning.
Those are PRECIOUS!!!! LOVE IT! You are such a talented person. Everything you make and do it SO inspiring to me. I wish I had a tiny bit of your creativity! I would love to be able to try and make one of those for my daughter (she will be 4 in August). I have recently started sewing some! Thanks for sharing...and your children are adorable!! :)
I too love these suits. I made one for a friends granddaughter using blue and white seersucker with light pink rickrack and initials. It was so easy. I already have a copy so I won't need one. But whowever wins your copy will be in the water with their precious little girl in her swimsuit in a flash! Thanks for sharing....love to see pics of those precious children.
Very cute!
How is your mother doing?

My mom loved Sew Beautiful and had quite a collection when we cleaned out her house. I don't remember what we did with them (have to ask my sister, she was in charge of those). I've been wanting to start sewing for Taylor and if I win this pattern, will put it to good use.
Hugs!
Judy
So sweet. How'd they do when they go wet? Just wondering since they weren't made out of lycra...thanks!
Oh my gosh--sooooooooooo adorable!

Warmly, Michelle
Your little family is so beautiful. I look forward to your new posts. I love the way you make everything special. My husband and I put everything into making everything special for our two children and now that they are 22 and 24 they nor we will ever forget all the special times together. We are still a very close and loving family so it all pays off in the end.
Great pictures. I really like how you did shorts on one of the suits. It is such a darling pattern.
Oh, those are the cutest swimsuits. I would love to make these for my two little girls.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your friends as well as you go through these trying times. Thanks for thinking of us!

How lovely to see your girls in the toddler two piece swimsuits. I hope to start one for my little one in a day or two. I love how classic they look. And your girls look darling and girly.
I absolutely LOVE the swimsuits! I was just "catching up" on reading all the blogs I "follow" and was so surprised (and pleased) to see my swimsuit pattern on your daughters! They are adorable!
It will not succeed in reality, that's exactly what I think.
